Panic Economics
Updated: Mar 18, 2021
Definition:
When the economy is driven by fear, whether it is a hurricane, ice storm, or wildfire; can also be political.
Exemplification of usage:
Her: I heard guns are flying off the shelf. Everyone is convinced they’re getting taken away after yesterday’s shooting.
Me: Your guns aren’t going anywhere, it’s in the Constitution. It’s just panic economics.
Her: You’re right. Almost like Y2K all over again.
