Going Mommie Dearest

Definition:

The process of removing any sign of your ex from your life. It is based on the movie “Mommie Dearest”, where Joan Crawford cuts photographs in half to remove her ex from the pictures.

Exemplification of usage:

Him: That’s a great picture of you. Too bad he’s in the photo, too. Me: I’m going mommie dearest on that pic. Hand me the scissors, please!
